Tournament Rules

7-A-SIDE SOCCER TOURNAMENT

RULES

1. All registered teams are required to report at the information centre between 08h00 and 08h30. Games will commence at 09h00 sharp so no registrations will be accepted after 08h30.

Prior to kick-off, all teams are required to complete a team list with players information.

2. Group stage games will be played 15 MINUTES - ONE WAY ONLY.

Games will commence with a bounced ball, but normal kick off after a goal is scored.

Quarter finals & Semi-finals will be played 20 MINUTES ONE WAY ONLY.

Finals will be played 15 MINUTES A SIDE (total of 30 minutes)

3. Teams to consist of 7 players and 7 reserve (rolling substitutions allowed)

No player may play for more than 1 team – Any Team/s found to be fielding a player who has played for another team, or a non DSV employee will be disqualified from the Tournament (1-year suspension from the tournament on the latter).

Playoffs as per formats depending on the number of groups.

4. Group Winners/Positions will be decided based on the best of Points, Goal Difference, Goals For and Then the result of the match between the Two Teams.

In the event of a tie during the knockout phase, the game will proceed directly into a penalty shootout. If there’s no result, after 7 players each having a turn, sudden death (penalties) will apply with equal turns. During a shootout, all spectators must be off the field and not behind the goal line.

5. REFEREES DECISION WILL BE FINAL REGARDING THE LEGITIMACY OF GOALS SCORED.

6. The Offside Rule will not be applied

7. All free kicks will be direct with the opposing player a minimum of 5 paces away.

8. No sliding tackles will be permitted! No tackles from behind are allowed.

9. No goal may be scored directly from a throw in or from a throw by the goalkeeper unless the ball is touched by another player before entering the net.

10. Goalkeepers 6 second rule will apply. Back pass will result in a penalty.

11. Appeals will only be heard if lodged by the Team Captain – these appeals should only pertain to the scores or points.

12. Any player sent off for foul play will have a minimum of 1 game suspension and may not be replaced for the remainder of that specific game (Red Card). Any player who receives a yellow card will sit two minutes out in that game (Sin bin) then allowed to return to the field of play.

Any player sent off for FIGHTING/OR USING FOUL/ABUSIVE LANGUAGE TOWARDS THE OFFICIALS will not be allowed to participate in any further games in the tournament.

Substitution of the player for further games is to be discussed with the disciplinary committee. Any team found guilty of unacceptable behaviour (un-sportsmanship; fighting; swearing and use of alcohol) from players, managers or supporters will be disqualified and possible Disciplinary Action will result.

13. No alcohol may be brought onto the premises. No player will be allowed to play if they are under the influence of alcohol. All vehicles will be searched on entry.
