This 9v9 format follows official FAW rules and is designed to support U11 players as they transition from friendly league football into a more competitive environment.

This stage is about more than just results — it’s an important development opportunity. It allows coaches to:

• Help players understand and respect the referee

• Reinforce respect for the game and its laws

• Teach players how to manage themselves in a competitive setting

• Coach “in the moment” during real match situations

Moving into competitive football is a key learning phase. It provides valuable, realistic experiences that help players grow not only technically and tactically, but also in discipline, sportsmanship, and game understanding.

This is a great opportunity for coaches to teach on the job while players are in true game mode.
